Just in our homes, we live surrounded by over 2000 objects, and how many more in our environment. We spend our whole lives with them, but most often, we don’t know how and why they were created, manufactured, modified over time and by whom.
Yet these objects have a history. Women and men thought of them, imagined them and built them according to their culture and their time. To improve everyday life, they sought to reconcile the notions of utility, technicality, amenity, and beauty. Because design is not only chic and expensive objects reserved for collectors, it is also the everyday objects that populate our daily lives.
